Join our Sandwell masterclass on the King’s Awards for Enterprise

The Sandwell Business Ambassadors have long been advocates for the King’s Awards for Enterprise – we think more Sandwell businesses should enter for them. We’re partnering with the West Midlands Lieutenancy on Thursday 23 May to bring you a Sandwell masterclass in putting in a successful application. Sign up soon!

We want Sandwell businesses to know that winning a King’s Award is transformative. For your reputation, for gaining new work and for team morale.

Our Sandwell Business Ambassador John Wood is a Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands. This means he has been appointed as a deputy by the Lord Lieutenant, the King’s personal representative in our region.

Watch the video to see why John urges you to apply for the King’s Awards:

Paul Hull – another of our Sandwell Business Ambassadors – knows first-hand the benefits of winning a King’s Award. His freight forwarding business, KMB Shipping, won in the International Trade category in 2021. (This was when the awards were still the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.)

In this video Paul reports seeing KMB’s turnover increase by 25 per cent on international orders following the prestigious award:

To support Sandwell businesses to make an entry, we have a page of resources on the King’s Awards for Enterprise. You can view it here.

And now we’re planning a masterclass to help you get started with an entry for the 2025 awards.

Our masterclass takes place on Thursday 23 May (2pm to 4.30pm) at NMC Venue, 47 Birmingham Road, West Bromwich B70 6PY.

At our afternoon event, you will get a thorough explanation of the awards and the four categories. These are:

During the afternoon you will also learn about eligibility for the awards, get tips for entering, and hear from previous winners.
