Movie magic at Sandwell Valley

Do you long to escape to a magical house in Colombia, dance your way around the islands of Greece, or carry a watermelon to Camp Kellerman? You can do all three at Sandwell Valley Country Park!

Visit Sandwell is inviting Sandwell residents to bring their picnic blankets and deck chairs to Sandwell Valley for the first ever big picnic movie weekend. The event offers a chance fans of musicals to sing along to three of the best loved movies of all time.

The films will be screened across three weekends in August:

• Saturday 19 August: Encanto (PG) – doors open at 12.30pm
• Saturday 19 August: Mamma Mia (PG) – doors open at 5pm
• Sunday 20 August: Dirty Dancing (12) – doors open at 5pm 

Bring or buy movie snacks

There will also be food vendors and a licensed bar on site. Sandwell Councillor Charn Singh Padda, cabinet member for leisure and tourism, said: “I would like as many residents as possible to come along to our big picnic movie weekend. You can bring along your own picnics, or try some tasty food from our delicious food vendors.”

Tickets cost £6.50 for adults and £5.50 for children. You can buy them from the Ticket Source website.
