King’s Awards for Enterprise 2024 opening soon

We are urging Sandwell companies to enter for the King’s Awards for Enterprise 2024.

The prestigious awards, previously called the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, celebrate outstanding achievement by UK businesses in four categories. These are innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

Success can mean worldwide recognition, press coverage, a boost to staff morale and even increased commercial value for your business. Winners receive a certificate and commemorative crystal trophy, presented at your premises by a Lord-Lieutenant – one of the King’s representatives. You can also fly the King’s Awards flag at your head office and use the emblem on your marketing materials.

Is your business eligible for a King’s Award?

To be eligible, an organisation (business or non-profit) must be based in the UK, have a good compliance record with HMRC be a self-contained enterprise under its own management, have at least two full-time employees (or part-time equivalents), and demonstrate strong corporate social responsibility. Each award category also has additional criteria.

The application period for the 2024 awards opens on Saturday 6 May and will close on Tuesday 12 September. It is free to enter, and you can apply in more than one category. The winners will be officially announced in May next year, and invited to a royal reception in the summer.

For more information, and to subscribe to email updates, visit the official website. We’ve also put together top tips for creating a strong application, and some sources of support on our King’s Awards resources page. We did this in collaboration with Sandwell Business Ambassador John Wood, a Deputy Lieutenant appointed by the Lord Lieutenant, the King’s personal representative in our region.

You’ve got to be in it to win it!
