Good luck and thank you, Corin

As Corin Crane moves to his new CEO role at Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, we thank him for his service as a Sandwell Business Ambassador and wish him the very best for the future.

Corin has been an Ambassador since 2018, joining our voluntary collective of business leaders in his capacity as CEO of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.

These have been turbulent years, as we all know, with UK businesses profoundly affected by national and international events that included Britain’s exit from the EU, the Covid-19 pandemic, and now rising inflation and surging costs of fuel and energy.

At every step Corin has been a passionate and effective advocate for Black Country businesses, strengthening the local Chamber’s reputation for listening to and standing up for its members, sharing timely resources, and campaigning for equality and inclusivity. We’ve lost count of the times we’ve seen Corin on TV, conveying the pressures faced by local businesses in his inimitably articulate, friendly way.

Corin’s work for the Chamber naturally brought valuable insight to our Ambassador meetings – backed up with his thoughtful and practical suggestions for working with Sandwell Council to boost Sandwell companies and, in turn, the region’s economy.

Thank you, Corin – we’ll miss you!

“Corin Crane has been the Chief Executive of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce since October 2016. This is the West Midlands’ largest business support organisation. In particular, Corin and the Chamber have demonstrated considerable leadership and skill in supporting businesses through both Brexit and Covid in the last few years. Corin was also responsible for establishing the Black Country Business Festival from 2018. In addition, Corin has worked closely with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council as part of the Sandwell Business Ambassador network and as chair of the Anchor Community Wealth-Building Network and has energetically supported the council, businesses and residents in so many other ways. He has recently been appointed as Chief Executive of the Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and will be leaving to start this new job this summer. On behalf of all businesses, members and officers in Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council can I formally thank Corin for his tremendous achievements in the Black Country over the last six years” – Tony McGovern, Director of Regeneration & Growth at Sandwell Council.

“Corin – the man, the myth, the legend. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you the past few years. Your relentless enthusiasm for the Black Country and Sandwell is nothing short of remarkable. An inspiration for us all to go the extra mile to make the world a better place!
