SIPS EDUCATION SUPPORTS NATIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE MONTH
31st January 2018Today’s young people are tomorrow’s workforce, so it is vital to prepare students for life after education. SIPS, Education Business Partnership (EBP), is proud to support schools at every step of the way, helping bridge the transition to work, linking the world of education with business and commerce. In fact, in the last year, SIPS EBP supported schools, enabling in excess of 2,500 pupils to go on work experience.
It’s a well known statistic that 80% per cent of employers think work experience is essential*. SIPS has welcomed Work Experience placements at its Guardian House Headquarters in West Bromwich from many local schools. Ismail Bukhari of Holly Lodge 11-19 Science College, commented: “It’s great to be in an office environment learning about work, I hope to consider SIPS opportunities in the future.â€
Kim Whiting, SIPS Director for HR, Learning & Workforce, commented: “Work experience gives young people the invaluable opportunity to learn new skills and gain a practical insight into the world of work. We also encourage development after study and as an organisation we have employed 10 Apprentices in recent years many of whom have graduated to secure permanent full time roles at SIPS developing their careers.â€
