Help shape Smethwick’s future – £20 million investment on the table
24th July 2025
Local businesses and community leaders are being invited by the Smethwick Partnership Board (SWP) to have their say on how £20 million in government funding should be spent in Smethwick over the next decade.
Two ways to get involved
Smethwick is one of 75 UK towns selected for up to £20 million in long-term investment through the Government’s Plan for Neighbourhoods programme. The funding will support meaningful that reflects local priorities and your input is essential.
You can get involved in two key ways:
Complete the community survey
The SWP has launched a short online survey to gather views on what matters most to people in the town. It covers eight core themes:
- Regeneration, high streets and heritage
- Housing
- Work, productivity and skills
- Community cohesion
- Health and wellbeing
- Transport
- Safety and security
- Education and opportunity
Your feedback will help shape priorities and influence how the funding is allocated.
Attend one of eight local workshops
A series of in-person community workshops will take place across Smethwick between Monday 28 July and Friday 22 August 2025. These sessions are a chance to:
- Meet members of the SWP
- Share ideas and suggest local projects
- Discuss community challenges and opportunities
- Help decide how the investment can make the biggest impact
Workshops are free to attend but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Whether you live, work, or run a business in Smethwick, your voice matters.
