COVID-responsible posters for Sandwell businesses

Sandwell Council has teamed up with West Midlands Police and Public Health England to challenge local businesses to be COVID responsible. Sandwell Business Ambassadors fully support these efforts.

Coronavirus infection rates are currently high in Sandwell. Sandwell Council, Public Health and the police continue to do all they can to make people take safety seriously.

They have just released posters for businesses in Smethwick and West Bromwich to display prominently in their premises. You can download them here:

Deputy Council Leader Councillor Maria Crompton said the latest campaign targets shops and other businesses to step up and show their commitment.

She said: “We should all know by now what we are meant to do – to maintain good hand hygiene and social distancing and when we need to wear face coverings – and we want our local businesses to be reinforcing those things too.

“Put up the poster to show customers you’re taking responsibility and that they are safe in your space.”

‘We want all sectors to do their part’

Dr Adrian Philips from PHE West Midlands said: “This is a great idea – we want all sectors to play their part and it is good to see businesses an agencies working well together.

“Everyone has an individual responsibility to protect themselves and the wider community from catching and spreading COVID-19 and it is now law that people must wear face coverings in enclosed public places – including shops.

“I hope this will encourage retailers to do everything they can to promote a COVID-secure environment to protect their customers and staff.”

Think Sandwell has a raft of resources for businesses in the borough, in response to the pandemic.
