Brum Rocks seeks Sandwell stars

Brum Rocks is an exciting project that will unite hundreds of musicians and singers for a once-in-a-lifetime rock concert in Birmingham in July 2024, following a series of free workshops for adults of all backgrounds across Birmingham and Sandwell.

Brum Rocks is run by Misfits Music, a charity which runs music workshops for adults across Birmingham and Sandwell. Founders Rob Jones and Reuben Penny are trained musicians, who want to provide safe, inclusive places for adults to get together and make music in a non-judgemental environment.

Brum Rocks is Misfits Music’s big event for the summer, and is funded by ITV’s The People’s Project from The National Lottery Community Fund. And there are several ways in which your Sandwell business can get involved.

Join a workshop

Encourage your colleagues – and friends and family – to go along to one of the workshops that Misfits Music is running. Get a taste of the Brum Rocks repertoire and see whether you’d like to be in the big concert. The workshops coming soon are:

You can join the mailing list on the Brum Rocks website to be the first to find out about others.

Request a Brum Rocks workshop for your community group

Misfits Music have some funding for a Brum Rocks leader to run a rock music workshop especially for your Sandwell-based community organisation. These workshops are suitable for everyone, from complete beginners through to experienced musicians. Each workshop is usually 90 minutes long and involves singing and/or playing instruments.

They have some funded workshops to offer at no cost, and are able to run even more where groups are able to contribute towards the costs too.

Show you’re backing Brum Rocks: sponsorship opportunities

Another way to get involved in Brum Rocks is through sponsorship and advertising. It has already featured on ITV, and Misfits Music expects further press coverage in the run-up to the big event in July 2024.

The sponsorship pack includes opportunities from just £10 up to £15k, including benefits such as adverts in the show programme, company logos on merchandise and websites, adverts distributed at workshops, and social media posts.
