“I look forward to contributing to the prosperity and technological empowerment of the Sandwell community.”
Bevil Williams is the founder and CEO of Repc Ltd, a social enterprise which repurposes discarded IT equipment and donates it to underserved communities. Before that, he spent five years as CEO of Digital Pipeline, a company established by Bill Gates to help provide IT equipment to developing countries. Bevil has received numerous awards for his pioneering work in addressing the digital divide.
“As well as the Sandwell Digital Donation initiative, I’ve established similar projects in other local authorities, including Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Walsall, building relationships and providing essential IT equipment to schools and communities. My role involves strategic leadership, fostering partnerships, and ensuring the effective execution of our mission. I am passionate about leveraging technology to address social inequalities, and I’m driven by the positive impact of providing access to IT resources, as well as contributing to environmental sustainability through repurposing and recycling.
“I have witnessed first-hand the positive outcomes of our initiatives within Sandwell. As a Sandwell Business Ambassador I am committed to leveraging my expertise and network to foster collaboration between businesses and communities, ultimately promoting economic opportunities and technological access. I am thrilled to be a part of the Ambassadors, and I look forward to contributing to the prosperity and technological empowerment of the Sandwell community.”
