Have your say on Sandwell’s open spaces: survey closing on Sunday 18 August

Sandwell Council is inviting you to have your say on Sandwell’s open spaces. These include parks, gardens, sports facilities, nature reserves, playgrounds, allotments and community gardens.

The council is running this survey as part of its Open Space Assessment initiative, which involves evaluations of over 200 Sandwell locations. The results will contribute to the Sandwell Local Plan, part of the growth strategy for the borough. Sandwell Business Ambassadors are urging local entrepreneurs and business owners to make sure their voices are also heard.

Open spaces offer numerous wellbeing benefits

Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for regeneration and infrastructure is Councillor Peter Hughes. He said: “I strongly encourage residents to take a few moments to participate in this survey. Our wonderful open spaces and play areas are not only great for leisure, fun, and enjoyment but also offer numerous health and wellbeing benefits.

“By completing the survey, residents can share why these spaces are important to them, suggest improvements for the future, and assist us in creating inclusive spaces for all communities.”

Closing soon

The survey closes on Sunday 18 August (extended from the original closing date of Friday 9 August). There is also a prize draw for respondents! One person from each of Sandwell’s six towns will win a £25 shopping voucher.

Complete the Sandwell’s open spaces survey to be entered into the draw.
